I highly recommend Wendy Hamelin as a personal trainer and for her Fit Camps. I have participated in Wendy’s Fit Camps- that provide a variety of workouts in a fun and friendly format. Wendy incorporates exercises that work the entire body, including core strengthening, aerobic performance, and resistance workouts.
Her training allows her to modify exercises for any special needs, including injuries and personal fitness limitations. She also provides useful nutritional information throughout the Fit Camp and is very knowledgeable regarding daily requirements and ways to improve dietary habits.

I met Wendy when I was looking for a personal trainer to help me get healthier and fitter. I am not an athlete and have participated in all sorts of “aerobic” classes over the years but they were not changing my body.
I have now attended almost all of Wendy’s Fit Camps as well as Yoga and Pilates and this summer added in the early morning Fit Camp twice a week.
I finally made a healthier lifestyle change when it came to food and absorbed all that Wendy has been teaching us about nutrition and along with exercising have built muscle and changed my shape. She never misses a body part to exercise in each class and there is so much variety that you are always motivated.
I have also made great friends in my morning class and look forward to seeing them and working out as a fabulous group together. I am always pushing myself harder than I would ever do alone.
I would recommend Wendy’s classes to everyone…no matter what level you are at. She will always show you options and make you comfortable. Come and join us!!! You won’t regret it! You’ll love the new you and the energy you will have!

I have had the privilege of enjoying Wendy’s Fit Camps on a part time basis for the past 3 to 4 years and have also taken part in her yoga, Pilates and yogalates classes over the past 7-8 years.
I enjoy her method of training and Fit Camps. Fit Camp offers a whole body approach of movement in all directions with the concept of interval training thrown in.
I have been working out on a regular basis for over 20 years and still prefer running and other cardio exercises outside – by participating in Wendy’s classes I have a greater appreciation of core workouts and whole body fitness programs that allow a person to compliment any fitness routine they may already be involved in. I participate in the Fit Camps to diversify my workout routine and challenge myself in ways I may not have otherwise thought of. Thanks Wendy and looking forward to more fit classes in the fall.

It is a great place to come, even if you think you can only do a little bit there is no pressure, but with each class you get stronger and an fitter. My very first class I could barely do three push ups. Never did a plank before this class now I love them. There are always options provided if you feel you need it. So glad I faced my fear and signed up at Fit Camp. Been a “camper” for about 9 or 10 years now. My physical health is better and my mental health too – amazing how well it can reduce stress. Bonus part is that we have a lot of laughs too. Highly recommend you come try a session.

I have been going to Wendy’s Fit Camp classes for many years now. I continue to go because she runs an excellent program. The classes are different every week so I don’t get a chance to get bored. She knows her stuff so I always feel I am getting the latest and greatest exercise workout. She provides individual encouragement so you never feel pressured to do something that doesn’t feel right. She always has appropriate suggestions or alternatives to keep you safe. The atmosphere is non-competitive, friendly and self-driven.
The bottom line is: I go to Wendy’s Fit Camp to get and stay fit. This allows me to work and play like I want ( hiking, gardening, yard work, canoeing etc) and as an added bonus, I sleep better.

I have been a client of Wendy’s for seven + years. In the beginning I had Wendy design a personalized program for me. As a person living with MS, strength and balance, or lack thereof is a challenge. Wendy designed a program that maximized my strengths and minimized my weakness. As time progressed I felt strong enough to attend “fit camp”. This brought my activity level to heights I never imagined I could accomplish. Currently I am enrolled in Wendy’s Kettlebell class and loving every minute of it. I plan on continuing my wellness journey by becoming a first time yogi.
First and foremost Wendy promotes a safe and welcoming environment for physical activity, and not once did I, or ever was made to feel like I could not accomplish anything that Wendy or I could strive to.

I met Wendy in 2006 on one of my many resolutions to get to lose weight. I started with her Pilates and Yoga classes when I found out about Fit Camp. It sounded really interesting so when the next session started, I signed up. It wasn’t easy. I was probably the most out of shape person there. I was the slowest to complete my laps. During the initial fit test, I walked the 2 laps. No way could I run or even jog those 2 laps. During the next 10 weeks, Wendy was encouraging, supportive, and never let me give up. When I was the last one, she would always come back to check on me to see if I was doing ok. She gave me some modifications or adjustments to do when I couldn’t do certain activities. Over the next 10 weeks, I became stronger, fitter and overall just felt better. I’ve been going to Wendy off and on for the past 5 years, and it has always been the same. She is encouraging and made me feel better about myself. Life has thrown me many curveballs, but one thing I could always count on was Wendy. She is the reason why I keep coming back and willing to travel the distance to get to her classes. She has become a great friend and support system. I am now able to jog the 2 laps around the gym non-stop. It used to take me more than 4 minutes to complete these 2 laps, now I can finish them in under 3 minutes. You will never regret coming to her classes.

To motivate myself to get to the gym or do any training was close to impossible until I joined “Fit Camp”. With my trainer Wendy I was able to get into a routine that I looked forward to every week. I feel stronger, fitter and healthier than ever before.
Since I started training with Wendy my energy levels have increased significantly. She keeps me motivated to continue with my workouts and is always happy to answer my questions and to provide suggestions to improve my training.
When I started Fit Camp I was in a size 18 pants. Now 9 months later I am in a size 12 pants. Even my “Mii” on the “Wii fit” has changed her shape dramatically!

I was in a fitness rut and needed a change. I wanted to try something new, get out of the house and meet new people. Wendy’s fit camp has been so much fun and just the change I was looking for. The workouts vary every day and we use many kinds of equipment. Wendy guides you through each exercise and offers each person individual attention. Wendy exercises the whole body, including aerobic training, core exercises and strength workouts.
Wendy is always encouraging and understands each members physical limitations. For each exercise she offers an alternative, making you feel like you have your own personal trainer.
Wendy also provides a variety of information on nutrition and health related issues. The classes are informative and fun.

I had tried for years to lost weight on my own and had been mainly focused on dieting. When I saw Wendy Hamelin’s ad in the paper for her Fit Camp, I thought I would give it a try.
I have done several of her Fit Camps and am inspired by what I continue to learn. I have learned to eat properly (without dieting) and be active. This is a combination I feel I can do for the rest of my life – not like the past diets where I couldn’t wait to reach my goal weight and get back to eating “normally”. Diets didn’t work for me – as it was not something I could sustain. This combination of eating well and being active is a way of life and something I feel confident I can do for the rest of my life!

I started Wendy’s fit camps in Feb. 2011 and have continued on since. I love the atmosphere and drive that Wendy offers while working out with others in a positive environment who share similar goals. Fit camp has allowed me to start at my fitness level and then progress and improve my overall physical strength and endurance. Attending Wendy’s fit camps has increased my knowledge on how to perform exercises in a safe and effective manner. Living with type 1 diabetes for many years has impacted my life in a positive way giving me more of a reason why I should exercise on a regular basis. My diabetes management is the best it has ever been since I started fit camp and exercise is incorporated into my daily life. I would highly encourage anyone with or without chronic illness to try these fit camps. Wendy always demonstrates alternatives to an exercise to accommodate the needs of your physical abilities.

I have been a long standing participant in Wendy Hamelin’s Fit Camps since the first Fit Camp started in 2005. My lifestyle has changed dramatically since I started participating in the Fit Camps and I don;t know where my health would be right now if it wasn’t for Wendy.
Wendy provides more than just a fitness program, she has helped me with my overall confidence and self-esteem. At one time I was intimidated to go into the gym by myself but now Wendy has instilled a lot of qualities in me that I didn’t know that I had.
Fit Camp also provides a lot of information regarding nutrition. Understanding what we put into our bodies is just as important as how much we exercise. All of her knowledge and expertise in this area is greatly appreciated among the Fit Camp participants.
