Frequently Asked Questions for Strength Club
Do you have to be in really good shape before you join?
- No. Beginner friendly.
- You must not be suffering from any impairments or disabilities/ medical diagnosis NOT cleared by your physician that could limit you from doing Strength Club. You must have the ability to get up/down from the floor unassisted. Your safety is my top priority. I always try my best to accommodate different bodies, ages, past injuries or physical limitations. I try my best to choose only the safest exercises that can accommodate all levels and take pride in offering an age friendly and skill appropriate Strength Program, Safety comes first! Options and variations will always be offered. Go at your own pace.
What does a typical Strength Club session include?
- Each session starts with a Warm up, followed by the main activity for that session (A “themed” workout featuring Strength and Core exercises) followed by a cool down. Each session varies and you will be introduced to a number of different strength activities. Exercises/Movements are functional/ naturally based i.e.: Squats, Lunges, Deadlifts, Pushing, Pulling, Twisting, Carry. This is the best way to stay strong and fit for life as you age. The classes take place in a court in the “field house” at the base gym.
- You need to be open to trying anything!! Sessions are approx. 45-50 min long. More guidance and support is offered online. Strength exercises are held standing or on the floor.
What kind of activities will I be expected to do?
- Variety is the key!! This program is diverse and I incorporate a variety of formats, themes and exercises to keep the session fresh, interesting and challenging! I incorporate bands, tubing, dumbbells, kettlebells and more! All equipment will be portable. We will NOT be going into the weight room during this program. There is no cardiovascular component to this program.
